Reiki is,
in essence, a manifestation of the Universal Life Force that runs through all of us.
Whether you call it chi, ki, qi, prana, juju, good vibes, The Force, aether, aura, the spark or breath of life, or simply, Spirit, the energy of this Life Force runs through everything that exists, and seems most obvious in living, animated, conscious beings.
This Force runs through meridians in the body, much like electricity channels through a house using the copper wiring.
Sometimes this energy within our systems can be a little off-balanced, overloaded, stagnant, or blocked. This can happen through our thoughts, words, or actions. It is accumulated from the environment around us, indulging in certain music and food, the people who we surround ourselves with, and most especially, trauma. When we experience physical trauma, or highly emotional or spiritual events which seem outside our grasp to control or cope with at the moment of impact (or beyond), this energy can then store in the body. If and when this energy creates dissonance between the frequency of our true selves, and who we are living as at the moment, this can manifest changes and eventually symptoms in the body, mind, or spirit. The longer the imbalance remains, the more the body starts to reflect levels of unwellness, disharmony, and dis-ease.
A Reiki Practitioner will find these blocks or imbalances, and channeling the energy of that Universal Flow, will rebalance the field of energy that flows through and surrounds you. This can be done in person, or remotely from a distance, as the Quantum Field assisting this process does not discriminate against space/time. When these blocks are removed and stasis is restored, it is much like when a dam is removed, and the state of what was beyond - dried up, barren, and begging for water - is able to return to it's natural harmony and balance, suddenly healthy with natural flora and fauna again. The biome regains health and stability. Your body, mind, and spirit progress toward optimal health.

The philosophy "Without Borders" means that, at least from what we've seen and experienced,
there are no limits to what the quantum energy of Reiki can do.
